The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms on a contract to re-sign QB Kerry Collins. ?Kerry did a great job for us last year stepping back into the starting role,? said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. ?He has veteran leadership, tons of game experience and we expect him to continue to play at a high level for us.? In 2008, Collins capped his third season with the Titans by being named to his second career Pro Bowl. He started the final 15 games of the season, leading the Titans to 12 victories as a starter, which tied Steve McNair?s franchise record (2000) and also matched Collins? personal high (2000). Titans Agree To Terms With K Rob Bironas

Feb 5, 2014 10:10 PM

The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms today with K Rob Bironas on a multi-year contract. ?We are happy to get this deal done,? said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. ?Rob has worked hard to establish himself as one of the best all-around kickers in the NFL and I would expect that to continue in the years to come.? Entering his fifth season, Bironas has become one of the elite kickers in the NFL. Since entering the league, he has become the fifth most accurate kicker in NFL history (min. of 100 field goals made) by hitting 84.5% percent of his attempts. He also ranks fifth in the NFL over the past four seasons with 59 touchbacks on kickoffs. Bironas etched his name atop the NFL record book for the most field goals in a game with eight against Houston (Dec. 2) in 2007, and appears throughout the franchise record book. An All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection following the 2007 season, Bironas holds the club record for longest field goal (60 yards), most field goals in a game (8), most consecutive games with a field goal (19) and most consecutive field goals (20, tied with Al Del Greco). Last season, Bironas was 29 of 33 on field goal attempts and tallied 127 points. The Titans originally signed Bironas as a free agent in 2005.

Peterman, Lions Agree To Five-Year Extension

Sep 14, 2014 12:24 AM

The Lions and guard Stephen Peterman have reportedly agreed to terms on a five-year deal worth about $15 million. Of the $15 million, $5.5 million of the money is guaranteed. Peterman, who started 27 games the past two seasons as Detroit's right guard, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent Feb. 27. "It was kind of weird there for a little while, you know, with them bringing in a new coach and staff," Peterman said Monday. "Me and my wife, we kind of prepared for things, thinking we could be going to a new team. But right after the Senior Bowl (in late January), they hired Coach Yarno and we had some good conversations and he said they wanted me back. "Through all this, I'm glad to be back. I love the guys I've met since I've been here, and I want to be a part of rebuilding this thing and win a Super Bowl."
